Now that the right side is pretty well done, time to tackle the left side. This side is much

worse, so I began by cutting out all the bad. I had to rebuild the bottom cap, and I still

have to build the other pieces for the corner.

I realized that I had to "overlap" one piece of steel, to make the pinch joint all line up.

I used my air chisel, with a piece of steel welded to one of the tips. I think it turned out

pretty well, for a quick-fix.

I laid off the corners for a while, after sandblasting it all, and jumped on the frame, to

try out the Chassis Saver paint. I will probably topcoat it, as the manufacturer said it

will turn a charcoal color, with exposure to UV light. Perhaps a semi-gloss black would

be in order. The paint is very easy to spread, with a brush, and flows out very nicely.

It is a messy job!

I plan on getting back to the cab shortly, where I will paint the Chassis Saver inside,

before welding all the corners together. I did find that I have to re-do the rear brakes - the

fronts were brand new, with new cylinders, and was hoping the back was, also...nope!

So I am currently blasting and painting all the drums, and working at pulling the front

and rear suspensions off. Going to get rid of the auxiliary springs, new u-bolts on the rear,

and new tie rod and ends on the front. I'll be checking king pins, while I have it apart.
